Lie Here With Me

If we just lie here
holding each other,
maybe the world outside
will wash away.

If we just lie here,
maybe time will forget us,
draping night over our bodies
like a soft blanket.

If we just breathe,
slow and steady as the tide,
maybe the weight of yesterday
will loosen its grip.

Stay.

Let the world spin without us.
Let morning wait.
